Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-09 · Version: 2026-10-09
This policy is read together with the Privacy Policy and the Privacy Notice.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that your browser saves on your device when
you visit a site. Sites mostly use cookies for two purposes: keeping your
session signed in, and tracking your behavior. Similar browser storage
mechanisms such as localStorage are also covered by this policy.
On Praedix, essential cookies are always used. Analytics and advertising cookies are not essential and are placed only with your explicit consent (see Sections 3 and 4). If you do not consent, none of these cookies is placed.
2. Which cookies Praedix uses
2.1 Essential cookies
Without these you cannot sign in or have your prediction saved. They are necessary for the service to be provided at all.
The table below gives the five items the Board's Guidelines on Cookie Practices requires: name, type, party, purpose, and duration.
| Name | Type | Party | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
praedix_access |
Persistent | First-party | Session / authentication. Keeps you from having to sign in again on every page after signing in; verifies that your requests belong to you | 15 minutes |
praedix_refresh |
Persistent | First-party | Session refresh. Renews your session without signing you out when it expires. Renewed on every use; only its irreversible hash is stored on the server | 30 days |
| Sign-in security (CSRF / state) | Session | First-party | Prevents the sign-in flow from being abused by a third party | Deleted when the browser closes |
praedix-cookie-consent |
Persistent | First-party | Remembers your cookie preference (accept/decline separately for analytics and advertising cookies), the preference's version, and its date. Not a cookie — stored in localStorage and never sent to the server |
Until you delete it; it is disregarded and you are asked again if the text's version changes |
praedix-theme |
Persistent | First-party | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. Not a cookie — stored in localStorage and never sent to the server at all |
Until you delete it |
What "type" means: a session cookie is deleted when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays on your device for the stated duration. What "party" means: first-party means the cookie is set by praedix.app itself. None of the items in this table are third-party — none of them belong to another company and none of them perform cross-site tracking.
Neither of the session cookies can be read by JavaScript running on the page; even in the event of a script vulnerability your session key cannot be stolen. They are sent only to praedix.app — they are never sent to a different site you have open in another tab — and are transmitted over a secure connection (HTTPS).
Essential cookies are, under the KVKK Authority's Guidelines on Cookie Practices, necessary for the provision of the service and may therefore be used without seeking explicit consent. If you block them in your browser, you will not be able to sign in to Praedix; you can still browse the match list.
2.2 Cookies we do not use
Praedix does not have:
- Social-media tracking pixels,
- Any technology that performs profiling or cross-site tracking without your consent,
- Open-tracking pixels or click-tracking inside e-mails. The only kind of e-mail we send is the sign-in link; it contains no tracking image and its link is not rewritten — clicking it goes directly to us, with no tracking address in between.
2.3 Third-party cookies during sign-in
If you use the "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple" option, you are redirected to that provider's own page to complete the sign-in. On that page, Google or Apple may place their own cookies. These cookies are outside our control and are governed by the relevant provider's own policies. If you do not want this redirect, you can use e-mail sign-in (the single-use link) instead.
3. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
The site displays Google AdSense advertisements. Google places its own cookies to serve and measure these ads.
These cookies are not essential and are not placed without your consent.
- You see a cookie preference panel on your first visit to the site.
- You can decline. If you decline, no advertising cookie is placed. No function of the game is disabled: you can still sign in, submit predictions, and view leaderboards. Ads may still appear, but they will not be personalized.
- You can change your preference at any time — you can reach the same panel again via the link at the bottom of the page.
- These cookies are not placed unless you consent; if you withdraw your consent, no new ones are placed.
In this context Google acts according to its own policies.
The names, durations, and purposes of these cookies are determined by Google and published in Google's own cookie list; we neither determine nor can we change that list. See Google's cookie policy for the current list.
4. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used: aggregate information such as which pages are visited and how often, which links visitors arrive from, and which types of devices are used. This information is used only to improve the site.
These cookies are not essential and are not placed without your consent.
- The cookie preference panel asks about analytics and advertising cookies separately; you can accept one and decline the other.
- If you decline, the Google Analytics script is never loaded; your browser does not connect to Google for this purpose. No function of the game is disabled.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of the page; when you do, these cookies are deleted from your browser.
Settings we apply:
- No information about your account (e-mail, display name, user ID, predictions, score) is sent to Google Analytics; the measurement is not linked to your account.
- Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your IP address.
- Linking to your Google account (Google signals) and data sharing for advertising purposes are turned off.
- Usage data is kept in Google Analytics for 2 months, then deleted.
Cookies:
_ga— Persistent. Written to the praedix.app domain by Google. Carries a random identifier used to tell visitors apart. 13 months._ga_<id>— Persistent. Written to the praedix.app domain by Google. Holds the state of the visit session. 13 months.
In this context, Google acts as a data processor, processing data on our behalf. Data may be processed on Google's servers, including in the US; see Sections 6.2 and 6.5 of the Privacy Notice.
5. How you manage cookies
You can view, delete, or block cookies from your browser's settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Signing out of your account also ends your session and invalidates your session record.
As a reminder about blocking essential cookies: you will not be able to sign in or save predictions.
6. Changes and contact
We update this policy when our use of cookies changes, and we announce changes in-app.
